Missouri ended Marquette's hopes for an NCAA Sweet -16 game by beating the Golden Eagles 83-79 in Boise, ID. MU trailed by 14 points when Jerel McNeal drilled a long three at the end of the first half to pull MU to within 11, 46-35. McNeal scored a career high 30, including 13-of-15 from the free-throw line. Wes Matthews scored 24 points and pulled in 7 boards in his final game for MU.

Lazar Hayward had 13 points and 11 rebounds. Dominic James, coming back from a broken foot, played 17 minutes but did not take a shot.

Missouri was lead by former MU recruit Leo Lyons, who had 18 points. Freshman Tim English had 15 first half points and came off the bench with 5.5 seconds left and the game tied at 79 to shoot free-throws for the injured J.T. Tiller. English's free-throws would be the game-winning points.

Buzz WIlliams called timeout after the made free-throws to set up a play, but Lazar Hayward stepped on the end-line while attempting to in-bound the ball, and the turnover gave Mizzou the ball under its own basket. MU was forced to foul, and the Tigers added two more free-throws to put the game out of reach.

MU finishes the year at 25-10.
