Paris Horne led the Red Storm to their first BET victory in six years.

In their first Big East Tournament win since 2003, 13th-seeded St. John’s knocked off Georgetown 64-59 at Madison Square Garden this afternoon.

The Red Storm advance to play No. 5 seed Marquette tomorrow at 2:00 PM EDT.

Paris Horne led St. John’s with 23 points, and his three at the 3:42 mark put them ahead for good, 53-52. Sean Evans also contributed 12 points and 13 rebounds.

St. John’s won despite shooting only 35 percent from the field. However, they did go 24-of-29 from the free-throw line and hit 6-of-7 free-throws down the stretch to ice it.

Marquette and St. John’s last met on Valentine’s Day, where the Golden Eagles won 73-59 in Milwaukee. In that game, Horne also scored a game-high 23 points, and he shot 6-of-10 from beyond the arc. Dele Coker also came off the bench to contribute 9 points and 3 blocked shots in 19 minutes.
