Marquette officially kicks off the Buzz Williams era this evening as Marquette University hosts Buzz Williams’ Texas Style Barbeque. This will be the first chance fans will have to meet and interact with the new team, the new staff and especially new head coach Buzz Williams.
The event will be held outside in the mall on Marquette’s campus, rain or shine. The excitement surrounding the event is building, and according to Joe True, Marquette’s Director of Development, there will be something for fans of all ages. “The response from the Marquette basketball community has been tremendous with over 1,500 registrations to date. The barbeque will allow the fans the opportunity to interact with returning players and the new coaching staff. This will be a family orientated event with interactive games, including mechanical bull riding and line dancing.”
