STORRS, Conn. Connecticut rebounded, shot and powered its way to a 89 -73 win over No 13 Marquette. PG A.J. Price led UCONN with 17 points and 8 assists but it was the intimidation factor of 7-foot-3 Soph Center Hasheem Thabeet who had 15 pts, 7reb and 6 blocks that led the way. The Huskies (12-5, 3-3) finished the game with 10 blocks.

Jeff Adrien and Craig Austrie both had 15 pts for the Huskies, who rebounded after an embarrassing loss to Providence.

Marquette (13-4, 3-3) which was led by Lazar Hayward’s 14 pts, suffered its 2nd straight loss on the road. Earlier in the week, it lost 71-51 to Louisville.

UCONN was ready to play Marquette, a team that they had not defeated since MU joined The Big East Conference in 2005.
