Here are some quotes from MU Coach Buzz Williams in the post-game press conference.

[Buzz Williams]

[Last play in 2OT] Buzz: "They had been switching man and zone…I called the last time out…make sure we got the last shot….we drew up a man play…and we drew up a zone play…when the ball got reversed to the side over at the bench..…it was a match up…I thought the execution was fine…and I wanted to make sure we took the last shot….we were going to get the ball to the high post for Davante to[1] set a fade screen for Jake…[2]a fade screen on the backside to Jamil and[3] a slip for Deonte…

A 3rd of our games have been in OT…6 OT games…all of us understand the value of a possession…so you never feel like you have won it or lost it…

[Harrison…3pt shot shot…] "He is a really good player…known him since he was a kid…can shoot it consistently 6 feet outside do the three…I don't know how far that one was…Derrick guarded him the entire game…

[Why the Time out in 2OT?] "We let them play thru it in OT #1 and in regulation most of the time we want to play vs a broken defense…but with Todd fouling out…I wanted to manipulate who had the ball… [Todd being out]it impacted us…typically we don't call time out…you think about all of the OT game when I did not call time you want to play in a broken floor…and with Todd not in the game…I wanted to choreograph it…

[Describe the season…]Up and down…not in every way…always hung around…and not a game at SJ…went 5-2 in next 7…and lost 2 in 2OT…it is over …now everyone is 0-0…all of the teams in the middle have work to do…we were playing for a 9th top 100 Kenpom win….but playing Xav…we are still playing a 9th top 100 team…

[Tougher now as a coach] I am getting older…2-3 in OT game …now 2-4 in OT…you can run thru our losses…losing at Butler in OT…but the OT at Gtown…how fragile line is…every possession …did we play to scouting report…wanted to shoot better…hard to win when SJ shots over 51% for the game...you want to win not so much for the win but just so you do not lose…that is demented…you take short shallow breaths at this time of the yr…and when you win, it allows you to keep breathing…

[Todd] Todd took it to OT and we did not time out…the last 2 games without Todd…it would have never made it to 2OT….100 min this week…we played Sun, late nightTue Night at Prov who had a lot at stake and was waiting on us and Sat morning at 11am vs team with 6 days off…without Todd making plays….he has always had that…[Todd]he has made really big shots in his career…3 1H threes at USF…Syr here…he is probably better at the end of the game than he is at the beginning of the game…that is how he circulates…

[Last shot]…you want to take the last shot…but you want to take the first best shot…we got it from one side to the next….don't remember where Jamil had it…and I don't know if they trapped him or not but Derrick was wide open…
