Dean 'the dream' Meminger, Dead at Age 65

Dean Meminger (May 13, 1948-August 23, 2013), former Marquette University men’s basketball player (1969-71).Meminger was the MVP of the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) in 1969-70 in his hometown of New York City and helped the New York Knicks to the NBA title in 1972-73. MU's Deputy Athletic Director Mike Broeker said,"“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Dean Meminger,

one of the greatest players in the storied history of Marquette University basketball.Dean will always be remembered by MU fans for leading the program to the 1970 National Invitation Tournament title and being a consensus All-America selection the following year. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Dean’s family during this difficult time.”

Dean Meminger's #14 was the third number retired by Marquette...1.Don Kojis #44...2. George Thompson #24.
