19 MU TOs: GTown 63 MU 55

WASHINGTON – 18th ranked Marquette's 19 turnovers led to 24 Georgetown points as the 15th ranked Hoyas beat MU 63-55. MU trailed 33 -23 at half but went on a run cutting the lead to 37-34 when a technical foul was called on Marquette coach Buzz Williams. The Hoyas (18-4, 8-3 Big East), leading scorer Otto Porter then scored 11 of his 21 points after the technical.

Porter led Gtown with 21 pts.

Jamil Wilson scored 13 points to lead the Golden Eagles (17-6, 8-3), who fell into a tie for 2nd place with Georgetown, one game behind conference-leader Syracuse (8-2). Chris Otule had 11 points and 3 blocks.

Buzz Williams gets a huge Technical after MU cut the lead to 37-34.

The post-game radio show on ESPN 540 was interrupted by a power failure but Buzz Williams said, "We had 12 TOs in 1H and no offensive rebounds"

He said that MU gave Gtown too many layups after on live ball TOs and layups after offensive rebounds. The way to beat Gtown is to prevent them from making layups. MU did not do that…
