Rutgers cornerback Logan Ryan did not want to be a distraction going into the Russell Athletic Bowl, but did spend time weighing his options.
Following the 13-10 overtime loss to Virginia Tech, Ryan was quick to come to a decision regarding his final year of eligibility. The redshirt junior cornerback will announce whether he will stay or go tomorrow morning at 11 a.m. from the team meeting room.
Ryan earned All-Big East honors for the second straight season and would be the fifth player in six years to leave Rutgers early for the NFL draft.
"I really feel like with the way we ended the regular season, it would be unfair to take any distraction to take any distraction away from what's really important," Ryan said. "We really wanted to win this bowl game, so a decision by me is not more important than this team. I haven't really put much thought into it, but now that the season's over I'll put thought into it and make a decision soon."
Sophomore running back Jawan Jamison, who is also considering an NFL departure, will not return to Rutgers until the end of semester break and will take longer to announce any decision, he told ScarletReport.com.
