Johnson goes with Marquette

Jajuan Johnson

Marquette scored another top 100 prospect on Friday. Memphis (Tenn.) Southwind standout Jajuan Johnson committed to the Golden Eagles.

Buzz Williams is putting together a banner class.

With a pair of top 100 prospects and an elite Junior College prospect already on board, Williams and his staff picked up highly regarded four-star recruit Jajuan Johnson on Friday.

Johnson, Scout.com's No. 33 prospect, picked the Golden Eagles over strong interest in Miami and Alabama. He took official visits to all three schools.

When Johnson spoke to Scout.com following his trip to Marquette, he explained that the visit changed his outlook on Williams' program. He cited their love for basketball in the area and how important it is to the city.

"It was cool," Johnson said of the Marquette trip. "I was down there with the recruits they already have down there. They were telling me about the class we could have if I come and stuff."

"It was a basketball town," he added. "Everything was about basketball."

Johnson joins a class that consists of Deonte Burton (No. 53), Duane Wilson (No. 69), Junior College four-star standout Jameel McKay and New Mexico native John Dawson.

Marquette's class jumps from just inside the top 15 to the No. 5 overall recruiting class.
